7th of July is here and it started pouring heavily even before 7am. I woke up contemplating what to do, as we have to reach the church at Newton at 845am to be ushers for Lionel's wedding. Reached there at 9plus, and we were sent down to B1 to do ushering. Very soon, we were called up, and the wedding has already started. Worship leader and 2 vocalists were singing worship songs while Lionel and Rachel were standing in front of the stage, both hand in hand. We sang a couple of songs, and it was followed by the wedding vows. While they were exchanging rings, the ring suddenly fell on the ground, and Lionel gave out a loud.."Opps.." and the audience laughed so loud. Apparently, there were no flower girls no ring bearers, no bride's maid and all. The whole ceremony was proper and efficient. Half way through the vows, I suddenly felt quite overwhelmed and felt like crying actually. Haha.... Can see that Lionel is very very happy, but well, Lionel is always happy.
Right after the ceremony at the church which lasted about 45 minutes time, we were ferried to Four Seasons for lunch reception. It's my first time at Four Seasons and the hotel is really very grand. The banquet hall was decorated with a white and golden background, with candles and flowers surrounding the area. They even hired a Jazz Band! It was so romantic!!! Lunch was western, and yes it's my first time having a western wedding lunch actually. Indeed, Four Seasons is definitely up to standard, the bread served was so special, some round ones, some really flat pita-like bread and some looking like Poki poki, and yes they were served with my favourite butter! This was followed by starters which was huge big scallop, and I had fish for my main. Last but not least, the dessert was fantastic. It was a love shaped pastry made of crunchy cookies with creamy topping and a hard chocolate base. There was also a strip of berries next to the huge heart. I digged out all of content and left the heart shaped chocolate base untouched. Haha... It was indeed a wonderful wedding, and Lionel is now on his way to Europe for his honey-moon!! Ohhh...So exciting!
