Brad Little, the Phantom

Finally, I've gone for the Phantom of the Opera. Amazingly, 5 months were gone since the day that we bought our tickets last October. That was right before our exams, and now we're approaching this semester reading week, time really flies.
I was looking forward to the musical since the beginning of this week. Four days seemed to pass by so slowly, I was totally impatient.

We sat in the middle of circle 2. Though it's second class, it's actually rather far from the stage and it's just a level lower than the highest floor. With my deteriorating eyesight(as I can't go home and get a new pair of specs), some scenes were actually rather blur. The greatest regret, we weren't willing to buy the first class seats which is $30 more expensive. Next time, for such shows I'll definitely get the best seats, to see the details of the clothings, and the delicate expressions on their faces. No wonder I enjoyed "Twist of Fate" so much, I guess the seats were fantastic. The musical is of very high standard. Costumes were amazing and multicolor, from afar I can already see that there were so much details on the dresses and suits. The singing was extraordinary too, everyone sings very well. The best singer is definitely the Phantom, someone called Brat Little. His vocals were so amazing and overwhelming. His range was so wide and the control of his voice is just so perfect...! I've never love the Phantom so much till I've watched this musical. Last but not least, the props! They were just so perfect as well, especially the boat scene. They literally transformed the stage into some lake, with candles all around, and mist running back and forth, till it covered the blond conductor for the orchestra. That scene was just awesome!
Overall, it's definitely worth the $$. I guess in a way, Lloyd Webber's songs are masterpieces that few would go away without humming a tune in their hearts. I bet everyone gone off with a favorite song. For me, indeed the show was amazing, but it wasn't filled with "oh my gosh.."s throughout the show, just like my friends who went there with me. I guess I've seen quite a few musicals for the past years, and sort of know some of the tricks they used to gave those amazing effects on the stage. What touches me the most is the singing of the Phantom and the scene at the graveyard, that almost put tears onto my eyes.

For now it's reading week, and it's 7 days to my first paper. Hope that it'll end soon, and the holidays will be here!
