The Great Adventure

Mom called and told me about grandma, just when i was waiting for 200 to go Holland to meet Ivon for dinner. The thought of going back was the last thing on my mind. When she first mentioned it, I was speechless. Work starting on Monday, and Sat evening...Going back to Ipoh? Don't be ridiculous.

Somehow I remembered, along the way in bus 200, I was very troubled. My heart was beating fast, blood rushing everywhere... and i couldn't make any sense out of anything! Met Ivon, asked her, Do you sense the troubled me? She didn't. Anyway, she asked me to make up my own mind.

Cut the long story short. I decided to go back, just for my mom.

It was truly a good reunion I should say. The wake turned out to be rather lighthearted except for wife of uncle2, guess she's just too worked out. Met all the cousins in the family, caught up on names, what you doing now... Simple things that we have taken for granted for years.

I left earlier, and didn't manage to attend the burial. Hope that it went on fine without too much weeping and mourning. My trip back to my maternal kampung ended great! As mom and sis would be attending the burial, I had to go back to Ipoh myself. Thus, I embarked on the adventure of taking the public intra-kampung bus for the first time! I had a wonderful time. Passed by Kampung Bemban, Pusing, Batu Gajah, and lastly alighted at Menglembu, and dad picked me up. Guess it's not a complete adventure as "dad picked me up at the end"... It was a great journey coz it's the first time I appreciate the beauty of the country side, the cows, the trees, the houses, and most importantly the people.

And the greatest thing of them all, I traveled between Singapore-Ipoh-Tronoh-Menglembu-Ipoh-JB-Singapore, in less than 48hours time.

And I'm awfully sleepy now... zzzzz...
